Sauce: We understand you're only 10 years old & in 5th Grade. We're so pleased that you participated in our contest. What was the inspiration behind your design?
Thank you so much, I can’t tell you how happy I am. I just like to brain storm so I figured I would do bright colors to brighten peoples day. Then I decided to draw fruit that morning. That night, I was thinking of hat ideas and found the fruit I had drawn that morning. So I drew fruit.
Sauce: Which charity would you like your design to support?
The non-profit I’d like to support is Moonsong Malamute Rescue. Being that I run sled dogs, northern breed dogs are very close to my heart. Thanks again for letting me be a part of this.

Sauce: Can you share a little bit about the inspiration behind your design?
Oh yes, when I was thinking about design possibilities I wanted to do something wildflower because I’m just a big fan :) and as much as I love winter, it is pretty long so liked the idea of experiencing some of the best of both. I was going through the usual favorites and the Bitterroot came up because of the obvious MT state flower but also often I feel a little overlooked, so I thought it deserved a shout out!
Sauce: Which charity would you like your design to support?
My charity of choice would be Erin’s Hope Project, a MT based organization that funds and creates an opportunity for a MT kid with a life-threatening illness and their family to have an outdoor adventure together or similar experience of their choice. This Project was started in honor of my younger cousin, Erin, who passed away from cancer. My aunt and uncle are a part of the project board which is based out of Miles City, MT and are extremely personally invested in each child, family, and their story. One special girl from Butte, that I was honored to get to know loved mermaids. EHP rented them a RV and organized a trip for them to go to the Oregon coast. It was also organized that a ‘real-life’ mermaid got to meet them on the beach there one day which she just LOVED. These awesome experiences are funded by donations and events like Fun Runs, and the dubbed Erin's Crystal Ball, a winter dinner and auction. This cause is special to my own family’s journey and being able to share and see other family’s journeys is humbling and an honor. I’d love for Sauce to be a part of supporting this cause for soul medicine of the outdoors, family memories to cherish, and human compassion. I am happy to answer any other questions you may have about Erin’s Hope Project.
